How do politicians make their way to becoming a candidate for president?

isnt it all "politics". Helping out other politicians and pushing through laws to help the corporations that fund them? Which candidate is a true leader and not just a "politician".

1. If you read two dozens questions and answers in this election section of Y!A, you will understand why no honest politician who tries to explain his policies to his constituents has any chance of survival. The only road remaining: take the donations and repay.
2. They make their way with lots of $$$$$$! They are all politicians. This election has given America "Electile Dysfunction." You know, the inability to get aroused about any of the candidates put forth by either of the parties!
